Commonly Asked Questions
I’ve never done this before, how does it work?
It’s completely normal to feel unsure about therapy at first, especially if it’s your first time. In therapy, you will work with your therapist in a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and any challenges you’re facing. You can talk about whatever is on your mind, and the therapist will listen and offer guidance, tools, and strategies to help you better understand yourself and work toward your goals. The process is collaborative, so you can go at your own pace, and you’re always in control of the topics discussed.

How do I pay for therapy?
During your intake process you will be required to input your credit card information into your patient portal. We utilize an autopay system through sessions health and stripe. If your card declines your sessions will be on pause until your balance is covered. If your card declines after 3 separate appointments, a new credit card will be required or termination of services will be discussed.
Is therapy confidential?
Therapy sessions are confidential, meaning that the therapist will not share any information about your sessions with anyone without your explicit consent, with some exceptions as outlined by NYS law.
What if I’m not comfortable with my therapist?
It’s important to find a therapist you feel comfortable with and trust. If you’re not comfortable with your therapist, it is encouraged to have a conversation with the therapist. You will then be redirected to our admin to be scheduled with another one of our therapists or you will be provided with referrals.
What should I expect during my first session?
During your first session, your therapist will introduce themselves, their process, and go through informed consent information. You will most likely then be asked about your background, current challenges, and goals for therapy.
Can I see a therapist if I’m not sure if I need therapy?
Yes, you can see a therapist even if you’re not sure if you need therapy. A therapist can help you explore your concerns and determine if therapy is the right path for you.
What if I have a crisis?
